TL;DRWe shipped Citera, a premium Shopify theme built from scratch for AI visibility (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode) and fast multi-engine indexing (Google, Bing, Yahoo, Yandex). No plugins, no code, full EN and RO support. Includes a complete JSON-LD structured-data engine, editable llms.txt / agents.md surfaces, an integrated SEO panel, IndexNow, and a complete CRO kit built on a strict no-fake-data policy. Built on Skeleton (the only base Shopify accepts for new Theme Store submissions after May 15, 2025). Live on atadesaci.ro.
The way people find products has shifted faster than most stores are ready for. More and more buyers no longer open ten Google results; they ask ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot or Google AI Mode directly: "which is the best supplement for focus?", "what brand of X do you recommend?". The assistant answers with a few names, and any store that isn't in that list simply does not exist for that shopper.
Here's the problem: most stores weren't designed for this type of search. Classic SEO helps in Google, but AI engines read differently. They need clean structured data, semantic HTML, and surfaces they can parse without effort. Almost every solution on the market today is a plugin: monthly cost, extra code that slows the site down, and rarely covers everything you need.
That's why we built Citera, a premium Shopify theme that solves this at the theme level, not the app level. You install it and, from day one, your store is structured for AI engines and ready to index fast in Google, Bing, Yahoo and Yandex. Zero apps, zero code.
What's broken today, and why Citera is different
Most vendors sell "AI optimization" as a trick: an llms.txt file dropped into the root and that's it. The reality in 2026 is more nuanced, and we built the theme on the technical truth, not on the trend.
What actually drives AI citations today is Schema.org structured data in JSON-LD, backed by clean semantic HTML. AI engines read the page directly. If price, availability, specifications and FAQs are marked up correctly, the assistant can cite them with confidence. Brands that implement a full schema stack report 2 to 4x growth in AI citation rates within 60 to 90 days.
In parallel, llms.txt and agents.md matter, but as a layer for AI agents that shop on behalf of the user, not as an SEO trick. AI-driven traffic to retail has grown dramatically year over year and converts noticeably better than regular traffic, because it lands already decided.
Citera delivers both: a flawless structured-data engine (what works right now) and editable llms.txt / llms-full.txt / agents.md surfaces (what wins the agentic-commerce era). That is both the marketing edge and the technical edge no standalone plugin can give you.
What others do with a monthly plugin subscription that slows the site down, Citera does natively, at the theme layer, once, with no recurring cost and no added code.
The features, one by one
Citera isn't "a theme with SEO." It's a fast, accessible, complete storefront where every piece pulls double duty: convert humans and feed AI engines the same clean information. Here's what ships.
The heart of the product. The theme emits a complete, valid JSON-LD graph without duplicating what Shopify already injects (a frequent Theme Store rejection reason). Covers: Product with full Offer (name, images, SKU, brand, GTIN/MPN, price, currency, availability, aggregate rating, shipping and returns from metafields), BreadcrumbList on collections and product pages, Organization + WebSite with SearchAction, FAQPage, CollectionPage / ItemList for catalog enumeration, and Article / BlogPosting with speakable annotations.
Strict heading hierarchy, a single h1, consistent RTE output. Plus two blocks AI assistants quote verbatim: "Key facts" (short, factual list summary) and FAQ (real questions that also feed the FAQPage schema).
llms.txt, llms-full.txt and agents.mdAn "AI & Agents" settings group with text areas for each file, plus sensible defaults auto-composed from store name, top collections, policies and contact info. Edit once in the Theme Editor and every surface updates instantly, because they read from the same source. The only manual step is a one-line redirect for the canonical /llms.txt path, documented clearly or done for you during assisted setup.
Google, Bing, Yahoo and Yandex, all handled at the theme layer: native Shopify sitemap respected, an IndexNow key field (near-instant recrawl in Bing and Yandex), clean canonicals, meta title/description templates with default tokens, Open Graph, Twitter cards and hreflang for multi-language stores. AI crawler controls (GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot) via a dedicated toggle.
Meta title/description templates with tokens (store, product, collection, price, vendor), canonical control, global title suffix/prefix, noindex toggles for thin pages (search, cart, tags), social image fallback. You run all technical SEO from settings, without an SEO app.
One place to paste every tag, without touching theme.liquid: verification tags for Google Search Console, Bing/Yahoo, Yandex and Pinterest, IndexNow key, plus behavior and analytics tools (Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, GA4, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel) and optional custom-snippet fields.
A library of native, toggleable conversion modules that add no external scripts: free-shipping progress bar, real-data urgency (real inventory count + countdown tied to a real end date), trust sections, sticky "Add to cart" bar, quick-add / quick-view, product recommendations via native Shopify APIs, "Frequently bought together" with combined pricing, volume discounts applied through native Shopify discounts, automatic free gift over threshold, announcement bar, AJAX cart, back-in-stock hooks.
Every number on the page comes from real data (real inventory, real orders, real promo end dates, real reviews). No "X people viewing now" fabrication, no invented "12 sold today", no perpetual countdowns, no fake reviews. This protects your brand, keeps you clear of deceptive-pattern penalties, and keeps the structured data we feed AI engines honest.
3 preset styles (Light Editorial, Bold Commerce, Minimal Mono), 30+ reorderable sections, block-based product page with Key facts and collapsible rows, native color swatches, video and 3D (.glb / .usdz), predictive search, AJAX cart, Markets (country/language selector), accounts and a gift-card page with a scannable QR code.
Built lean: vanilla JavaScript, no framework, no external font or script CDNs. Lighthouse: 100 Performance / 100 Accessibility. On the live store, Core Web Vitals: LCP ~1.05s, INP 80ms, CLS 0. Accessibility: semantic landmarks, skip links, visible focus, AA contrast, full keyboard support, respects prefers-reduced-motion.
Mobile-first build with fluid type and spacing (clamp()), breakpoints up to 2560-5K, with smart max widths so text stays readable instead of stretching. Full OS 2.0 support: JSON templates, sections everywhere, app blocks, metafield connections and full localization (every string via locales/).
Built on Skeleton, exactly what Shopify asks for
A detail that matters for trust: Citera is built from scratch on Skeleton, the only base code Shopify approves for new themes submitted to the Theme Store after May 15, 2025. Themes derived from Dawn or Horizon are no longer eligible. All the code is original, the theme is visually distinct, and it targets a clear kind of merchant (modern D2C brands that live from discovery: supplements, wellness, gadgets, home, beauty). It's not a recycled template. It's a theme designed and written from the first line.
See it liveCitera isn't a concept. It runs on a real production store you can open and test right now: atadesaci.ro. Browse product pages, open the cart, try predictive search, feel the speed on mobile. What you see there is exactly the theme you're reading about.
Sold and supported by a team in Romania
If you're a Shopify merchant in the EU or globally, you've had the same recurring problem: premium themes and their support live on another time zone, in English only, with replies that come a day later. Citera is different here too. It's developed in Romania by ALLSoft Agency, with support and documentation in both English and Romanian, from people who understand the European market, VAT, buyer behavior and what a store that actually sells looks like on this side of the Atlantic.
And if you'd rather skip the technical side, we can configure it for you end to end: llms.txt / agents.md, redirects, IndexNow, metafields and schema, ready to go. It's also the natural entry point to our full Shopify, SEO and AI Agency services.
We'll walk you through a demo on your case, answer technical questions, and install and configure it end to end, with the full AI visibility stack included. Write to us at info@allsoftagency.ro or test it first on atadesaci.ro.
