Citera v1.1 on licheni.ro: measurable gains over v1.0 (Accessibility 100, SEO 100, Agentic 3/3)

TL;DRWe installed Citera v1.1 on the second store, licheni.ro. Compared to v1.0 (running on atadesaci.ro), PageSpeed scores improve clearly on four fronts: Accessibility 92 to 100, SEO 92 to 100, Best Practices 73 to 92 and Agentic Browsing 2/3 to 3/3. Performance varies from store to store (catalog, images, apps installed by the merchant), so we don't pull conclusions from a single number. The declared target is Performance 95 or above, on mobile and desktop, on every important page. We aren't there yet on either store, we say so directly.

When we shipped Citera v1.0 and the first store (atadesaci.ro), the idea was simple: we don't sell promises of "AI visibility", we sell a theme that behaves correctly when you measure it. The first client came in from there, so it was the right moment for a second install and the first round of improvement iterations.

The second store, licheni.ro, runs version 1.1 of the theme. It has a few improvements over v1.0, and the differences aren't theoretical, they show up in the numbers. Below we put the two stores side by side, on PageSpeed Insights, with the numbers as they are, not cherry-picked to look good.

Direct comparison: v1.0 vs. v1.1

The numbers below come from PageSpeed Insights, on real production pages. Same metrics, same criteria, different stores (different catalog, different images, different apps). What we care about is the trend between theme versions, not the ranking between the two stores.

Metric Atadesaci.ro (v1.0) Licheni.ro (v1.1)
Accessibility 92 mobile, 92 desktop 100 mobile, 100 desktop
SEO 92 mobile, 92 desktop 100 mobile, 100 desktop
Best Practices 73 mobile, 73 desktop 92 mobile, 92 desktop
Agentic Browsing 2 / 3 3 / 3
Performance 96 mobile, 86 desktop 74 mobile, 88 desktop

What is clearly visible: Accessibility, SEO, Best Practices and Agentic Browsing all improve on v1.1 vs v1.0. That's four of the five main areas PageSpeed evaluates, so this isn't a coincidence, it's a consistent improvement between theme versions.

Performance, on the other hand, varies. On atadesaci.ro the mobile score is better; on licheni.ro, the desktop score is better. It's important to say clearly: Performance doesn't depend only on the theme. Catalog size, the number and weight of images, the apps the merchant has installed, and how their third-party integrations run (analytics, pop-ups, chat widgets) all matter. A good theme gives you a good start. From there, the final number is a conversation between theme and store, not a pure rating of the theme.

Agentic Browsing 3/3: why it matters right now

The "Agentic Browsing" category in PageSpeed evaluates how easy it is for an AI agent (a model-driven browser, the kind that shops on behalf of the user) to understand, navigate and act on your store. It's a young metric, but exactly the kind of signal Citera targets by design.

On v1.0 the score is 2 of 3. On v1.1, 3 of 3, on both device types. What that means for the merchant: when Google AI Mode, Perplexity Shopping or the various commercial agents shipping through 2026 start delivering products recommended directly inside the answer, your store is read correctly, not skipped because the interface confuses the agent.

It's a simple metric, but the signal is clear: v1.1 takes a small step in a direction that matters.

What we iterated between v1.0 and v1.1

No full changelog (this isn't a dev page), just the directions we prioritized for the second version:

  • Accessibility. Contrast fixes, missing ARIA roles on a few CRO components, and better keyboard navigation in drawers and menus.
  • SEO. Template refactors so every important page lands in the 100 band, not just the homepage and product page.
  • Best Practices. Cleanup on the resource strategy (correct permissions, modern headers, images with complete attributes) so Lighthouse stops penalizing details we could fix at the theme layer.
  • Agentic Browsing. Refinements to semantic HTML and structured data to satisfy the last criterion in that category, on product, collection and blog pages.

Each of these iterations stays in the trunk. When v1.2 goes live on the third store, the improvements from here are already in it, plus whatever we learn there.

What we haven't hit yet

Our declared target for Citera is simple: Performance 95 or above, on mobile and desktop, on every important page. We aren't there yet on either of the two stores. Here's where we stand:

  • Atadesaci.ro (v1.0): 96 mobile (above target), 86 desktop (below target).
  • Licheni.ro (v1.1): 74 mobile (below target), 88 desktop (below target).

The reasons differ: on v1.0, desktop is penalized by a few large images and a not-quite-optimal LCP; on v1.1, the mobile number takes a hit from the store's catalog and integrations, not the theme itself. That's an honest distinction, not an excuse. The direction for v1.2 is clear: more optimization budget on images, on hydration of the CRO sections, and on preload strategy, plus clearer merchant documentation on how not to break the score with uncontrolled app installs.

We don't sell one good number from a single store. We sell a theme that measurably improves from one version to the next, on verified data.

Who gets v1.1 and how

Clients already on v1.0 get the v1.1 migration at no cost, and we handle it as an assisted setup (you don't click buttons, we save current settings and carry them over to the new version). New clients get v1.1 directly on installation.

Support stays available in English and Romanian, with documentation updated to the current version. If you sell in the EU or globally on Shopify and want your store read correctly by both Google and the AI engines, now is the right time to test it. Write to us at info@allsoftagency.ro and we'll show you what v1.1 would look like on your case.

FAQ

Why does Performance vary so much between the two stores?
Because the PageSpeed Performance score doesn't measure the theme alone. It counts how many images the page loads, how much they weigh, how many apps the merchant installed, what third-party scripts (chat, pop-ups, analytics) do, and how long they block rendering. A good theme gives you a good start. From there, the final number depends on how the theme is used on each specific store.
What does "Agentic Browsing 3/3" actually mean?
It's a PageSpeed category that evaluates how easy it is for an AI agent (a model-driven browser that shops on behalf of the user) to understand and act on your store. A score of 3 out of 3 means you tick all three core criteria, which matters as Google AI Mode, Perplexity Shopping and other commercial agents start delivering products directly inside the answer.
I have v1.0 installed. What do I do?
Nothing, we reach out. Migration to v1.1 is included and done assisted: we save your current settings, upgrade the theme to the new version, check the setup together, then publish. Zero cost, zero risk of losing configuration.
When will Performance reach 95 on both devices?
It's the declared target for v1.2 and for the merchant documentation. The wins we're prioritizing: image optimization (extended fetchpriority and srcset), more selective hydration of the CRO sections, plus a clear merchant setup guide on how not to break the score with uncontrolled apps. When v1.2 goes live on the third store, we'll update the article with the numbers.
Can I see both stores in production?
Yes. V1.0 runs on atadesaci.ro, v1.1 on licheni.ro. You can open both on mobile and desktop, test search, cart and real speed. For the PageSpeed scores yourself, use pagespeed.web.dev and run on any URL that interests you.

Numbers source: PageSpeed Insights, measured directly on atadesaci.ro (Citera v1.0) and licheni.ro (Citera v1.1), operator-verified. PageSpeed numbers can vary between runs based on network load, cache and everything outside the theme.
